The Pressed Flowers Kerchief

If you've been tempted (but maybe intimidated!) by Amy Christoffers' Pressed Flowers designs...have we got a solution for you! Dip your toes in the lake of Pressed Flowers with the Pressed Flowers Kerchief! It's a great test of your mosaic knitting skills (spoiler: it's ridiculously easy) and this bite-sized kerchief project might give you the confidence you need to tackle the whole bouquet of Christoffers' Pressed Flowers patterns.

The kerchief pattern is free via Ravelry. We knit our sample using one skein each of two shop-favorite yarns: Cashsilk Light (in Bubblegum) and Lana Gatto Prestige (in Forest). Cashsilk Light is a magnificently soft blend of 70/20/10 Merino, silk, and cashmere that gives off the slightest little halo. Lana Gatto Prestige is 100% cashmere; the two together are almost unbelievably soft and luxurious.

If luxury isn't your thing (as if!), you might try a cotton-y combo. We think Lazy Hazy Summer Cotton and Rowan Mode Cotton DK would work up into a magnificent spring and summer-weight Pressed Flowers Kerchief; we opted for a blue-ish combo (Turquoise and Celeste) here, but you do you! Let the whole wide world of flowers serve as your inspiration!

Again, the pattern is free on Ravelry. You can find Cashsilk Light right HERE. Lana Gatto Prestige is HERE. You only need one each of two different colors (again, we used Bubblegum and Forest) for a Pressed Flowers Kerchief.

Lazy Hazy Summer Cotton is HERE. Rowan Mode Cotton DK is HERE. Again, one each of two different colors: voila!

...and WHAT A COINCIDENCE! April's Monthly Make is ... The Pressed Flowers Kerchief!

For April's monthly make, we're encouraging you to tackle the Pressed Flowers Kerchief. You can read all about it just above. But if you missed that link, the pattern is free right HERE.
If you're local to the Middle Tennessee area, feel free to join us in-store Monday, April 7 at 11am for the meet-up. Not local? Join us in spirit, cast on whenever the mood strikes you, and just make something!

KFO Cotton Merino + the Featherweight Cardigan

Hello to spring and hello to Knitting for Olive Cotton Merino! Brand new to the shop (we've got a wallllll of it!), Cotton Merino is a blend of 70% cotton and 30% RWS certified Merino wool. This combo makes it elastic, breathable, and perfect for warmer weather projects...but it's a great yarn for year-round everyday wear as well. It has a beautiful drape and excellent stitch definition, lending itself to all kinds of projects! While predominately cotton, the touch of wool adds an appealing "bounciness."

If you're like us and in desperate need of a put-on, take-off, put-back-on layering option, Hannah Fettig's Featherweight Cardigan is one of the most popular patterns out there, for good reason.  It’s a wonderful basic with a simply classic aesthetic with a top-down raglan construction that makes it possible to "fit as you knit"... so you can get that ideal for you length. And we bet you can guess what we're gonna say next. Knitting for Olive's Cotton Merino is perfect for it.

You can find the pattern RIGHT HERE and Knitting for Olive Cotton Merino is HERE. Yardage reqs below; each ball of Cotton Merino's got approximately 273 yards on it, so get yer calculators out!
