Spring Means Swanky DK!

We were thrilled to run into our friends from Magpie at Nash Yarn Fest a couple of weekends ago...for a couple of reasons. One: we love them - and two: it allowed us to place a spur-of-the-moment order and take practically their whole booth's worth of stock for the shop. All they had to do was wheel it down the aisle to our booth and just like magic, it was on the shelves at Haus for your perusal! Included in this restock are more than a dozen colors of both Swanky DK and Swanky Sock we've never had before, a handful of which are magnificently saturated solids, perfect for spring - or anytime you wanna chase the greys away.

We have a terrific Seiche Cowl sample in the shop made with Swanky DK; the colors Gold Digger and London Rain are a pretty close match to our shop model, but Seiche is a great opportunity to choose two colors you love equally!  We're absolutely smitten with the geometric waves of colorwork that are mirrored from top to bottom. The pattern includes instructions to create a custom-sized cowl based on a gauge swatch or an approximate gauge chart...so you can skip the swatching and go straight to knitting - we know you love that!

We love the lush cashmere/merino/nylon blend of Magpie's superwash Swanky DK; it's almost too soft to be believed. Works great for almost any pattern calling for a DK (or even sport) weight: sweaters, accessories...just about anything!

You can find the Seiche Cowl pattern RIGHT HERE and Swanky DK is HERE; there are about thirty shades now in stock. You'll need two skeins - one each of two different colors - for your Seiche.

No...Spring Means Swanky Sock!

Yes, we also mentioned a Swanky Sock restock! Fifteen colors new to us are now dangling about the shelves!

Featuring 400 yards of the same silky blend of merino (80%), cashmere (10%) and nylon (10%) as Swanky DK, Swanky Sock has a gorgeous drape and sheen; perfect for socks, shawls and any project calling for fingering weight yarn. We bet you have about fifty candidates in your Ravelry library right now, so get to it! Make it a spring full of socks!

Keeping it Spring: The Yoked Cardigan in Coastal Cotton

A whomping box of Coastal Cotton arrived the old-fashioned way - via The Man in Brown - which gives us the chance to show you our shop sample of Hannah Fettig's adorable tot-sized Yoked Cardigan again (though the pattern is graded for grown-ups too!). It's a perfect pattern for any worsted cotton, but we love the variety Coastal Cotton offers (especially in the speckeldy department, though the solids are... um...solid as well).

Made from 100% cotton, Coastal Cotton is a soft and breathable yarn - perfect for creating comfortable garments and accessories. It maintains excellent definition for sharp details and standout stitches that beautifully showcase your hard work. Plus it’s machine washable, making it a breeze to care for!

You'll Get a Kick Out of This

In this week's Department of Tiny Doodads...this cute lil' boot-shaped yarn and thread snipper! Made from cherry, this sharp-looking knitting tool carries some extra kick: cleverly (and safely!) concealed between its heel and sole is a small blade designed to snip yarn ends and trim thread lengths. Etched with a classic Western boot design, this practical tool also looks stylish enough to cut a rug with the best of them.
