Well, Modern Daily Knitting's Nash Yarn Fest is in the books and we can't even begin to tell you how exciting it all was. We've done a lot of fiber festivals in the past - from the sweetest far-flung farm shows to whomping big-city convention hall ones - and this one really was top-notch. Thank you so much to everyone who either visited us at our brick and mortar location or our festival booth over the past weekend. It's always so wonderful to see such a lovely group of makers - brought together by what they have in common - create a community and celebrate one another.

Thanks to everyone at MDK for their sterling organizational and communication skills (no small feat since the entire Saturday session took place hand-in-hand with lightning, thunder and near-constant tornado watches being issued)! They did not miss a trick.

We can't wait to do it all over again....uh, next year, when we finally get the car unloaded.

Fresh from the Fest: a handful of show-only exclusives we're happy to release at long last! Keep reading...

Old Rusted Chair's Custom "Nash Yarn Fest" Yarn

Lou from Old Rusted Chair dreamed up this exclusive colorway just for us and it was an enormous Festival success. It’s called “Haus Special Nash Yarn Fest 2025" and we offered it with two different designs from our own fantastic roster of pattern designers!

1) Kendall designed the Spring Drizzle kerchief specifically for the event. While the pattern is not currently available on Ravelry (she's on vacation!!), check HERE in a few days; she'll get it uploaded when she returns. We adore this bandana-style kerchief that features delicate, vertical rows of eyelets. It's so easy to wear with no-fuss styling.

And 2) Lou's festival colorway is also great for Leah's Scrunchie Handwarmers. These feature a nice long cuff with crisp scrunchie ruffles to warm your wrists.

A single skein is enough for either project - but we really think two is the way to go....that way you don't have to choose just one project! You can find the Yarn Fest Colorway RIGHT HERE.

From Nashville with Love

We also called upon another in-Haus designer - our own Vicki (with no E) - to come up with one of her custom BlackCat Bags for us. In this case, it's an adorable "From Nashville with Love" zip pouch, perfect for holding knitting or sewing notions - or just about anything else.  Each pouch is individually cut and sewn using a linen/cotton blend fabric (with a coordinating cotton lining) and measures 8"x5.5".

You can find the From Nashville with Love pouch RIGHT HERE. And there's always a shelf of her other BlackCat Bag format in the store; that would be a traditional zippered "dopp" shape, and you can find the current batch RIGHT HERE. They change with some frequency, so do check in often!

Yee Haw! Hat and Boot Stitch Stoppers

Our steadily popular silicon hat-and-boot stitch stoppers were big hits at the Fairgrounds, but we keep them in stock, so you can grab a set of your own even if you couldn't attend this time.

These fabulous needle point protectors come in a set of two and fit a wide range of knitting needles. They'll help ensure that your precious stitches stay on the needles when you aren't working on a project.

They fit US 2 - US 15 knitting needles and come in a package of two (one hat, one boot!) and in two colors, pink and cream. You can find them RIGHT HERE - along with some other cute options that are not hats and boots.

MDK FG 29: Mosaic

Modern Daily Knitting had quite the weekend! As if the smashing success of their Nash Yarn Fest wasn't enough, they also launched the twenty-ninth volume in their Field Guide series: Mosaic.

From the incomparable Amy Christoffers, Mosaic is a collection of five brand-new designs that explore the color, texture, and fascinating possibilities of mosaic knitting—the simple technique that creates beautiful colorwork via slipping stitches.
