Welcome Loopy Mango Big Cotton!
OK, we know spring hasn't arrived quite yet but that doesn't stop spring shipments from arriving! Big Cotton from Loopy Mango is here and we're already smitten! Available in sixteen gorgeous colors and soft as the underbelly of a kitten, its super bulky weight means projects will fly off larger needles!
The Big Cotton Baby Blanket (above) makes the perfect baby shower gift. Mom and baby will both love how soft it is! It's worked in allover seed stitch on US19s, and we're in love with the stitch texture combined with the softness of the cotton. It's perfectly sized at 28" x 34".
The Big Cotton Baby Blanket requires five skeins. It can be worked up in a single color, or you can be indecisive (like us!) and make it in three! We used two skeins each of White Night and Misty Morning and one Canary.
But wait...there's MORE to make with Big Cotton!...
The Cropped Cardigan is a perfect spring layering piece, and we're already planning outfits around our shop sample! The body of this cardigan is knit flat in a single piece from the bottom of the back panel up, then over the shoulders, and down the front panels. Stitches for the sleeves are picked up from the body, which are then knit in the round. The sides of the cardigan are finally seamed from the bottom hem to the underarm.
The 34" Cropped Cardigan requires 6 skeins, the 40" version requires 7 skeins, the 44" version requires 8 skeins, the 50" version requires 20 skeins and the 54" one requires 22 skeins.
