Shop Hits, Sweet Kits and Sheep in Little Outfits!
We've been busy little bees this past week putting together some kits of shop favorites. We know it can be tough making decisions about yarn and colors online, so we selected some tried-and-true favorites for you -- we hope it takes some of the guesswork out! These are all great, affordable projects to keep you busy, and we hope they'll ease some of the current anxiety and stress the world is throwing your way these days! We've got more kits than we're listing here (for knitters, crocheters and cross-stitchers alike), so click on over to the Kits page and take a look!
Knit Kits & Little Bits of Cross Stitch!
Silkpaca Spring Kerchief - For this gorgeous, lightweight shawl, we used two different colors of Malabrigo Yarns Silkpaca held doubled. The gradation keeps the simple pattern interesting as you knit, and the doubled laceweight yarn makes a super squishy fabric. Shop the kits by clicking HERE! Pattern is free on Ravelry, you'll find it by clicking here.
The Rios Shift Cowl is by far one of the most popular samples in the shop. It's written for sport weight yarn, but we chose worsted weight Rios and used a 24" US 7 needle. Shop the kits by clicking HERE! The pattern is a for purchase pattern on Ravelry, you'll find it by clicking here. Have other combo idea and want to build your own kit? Pick three different skeins of Rios by clicking here.
Skein Pouch Cross Stitch Kit - We love these eco-friendly mesh bags from CocoKnits for keeping those carefully wound cakes of yarn tidy and preventing them from tangling. We fell more in love with them when we realized the mesh fabric is a perfect canvas for some cross stitch! Shop the kits HERE! Not interested in cross stitching your own and you want just the bag? You got it: click here!
Crochet Kits!
Ricorumi CAL - the folks at Ricorumi launched a spring crochet-a-long on Friday, March 27th. They're releasing a free pattern - one each Friday for nine weeks. This adorable lamb was the first pattern released and we can't wait to see the remaining patterns! There are a few complete kits remaining if you're ALL in! Click HERE! The free patterns are available here! Not interested in committing to nine projects? Shop the Ricorumi open stock here!
Ricorumi Bunny - Every year in January, Meg heads to Mexico for a little R&R and always takes a project. Jammed into this year's carry-on was one of the adorable crocheted bunny kits she put together. If you can manage a single crochet, these cuties are a piece of cake to make and are so fun! Shop the kits HERE!
Star Wars - The Force is strong in this kit, and you can summon it by creating Yoda and five other cute and cuddly Star Wars figures! The kit includes an instruction book with step-by-step directions and full-color photos, a crochet hook, safety eyes, stuffing, needle and thread, and all the yarn you'll need to create Yoda. Create the rest of the characters with yarn of your choice.
Bricks-and-Mortar Temporarily Closed/Online Store Open!
New business guidelines during the Covid-19 pandemic are coming at all of us at a rapid pace; please follow us on Instagram @hausofyarntn or on Facebook for regular updates as the situation shifts.
While our physical shop remains closed until further notice, we're happy to fill and ship orders! So many of you have already taken advantage of that option, and we do appreciate it! Following the advice and recommendations of city and county government designed to keep all of us healthy and safe, we are no longer allowing in-store visits or curbside pickup. If you show up and yank on the door, you'll see a sign asking you to visit us online - thank you for understanding!
While almost any knitter could argue that a yarn shop is a "necessity," we all know that isn't precisely true, so we hope you'll take advantage of the luxury and ease of shopping from your living room! You already know that these are challenging times and we (along with every other other small business) appreciate your ongoing support. We're confident that we'll be here on the other side of this...whenever that may be!
If we can help you with any questions, please send them via email: info@hausofyarn.com. Instagram DMs and Facebook messages can easily get lost in the overwhelming flurry (right?) of social media, so please do use email if you can.
Keep knitting (or crocheting, or felting, or spinning, or weaving), stay tuned for updates, and -- most importantly -- stay safe and wash your fookin' hands!
--All of us at Haus, including Stanley the Shop Dog, who's the only one of us who LOVES that we're all staying home!
