3-Color Cashmere Cowl

3-Color Cashmere Cowl2

Soul Warmer

Fresh off Our Needles!

If you're anything like us, summer travel plans are on the horizon and we think we've found two perfect, portable projects for a little sum-sum-summertime knitting! Both the 3 Color Cashmere Cowl and Soul Warmer cowl are lovely little patterns to while away the hours; there are no complex stitches - it's just a matter of assembling some stripes, textures and lace in any combination that suits you.

We've sampled both using one of the adorable mini bundles of Fino from Manos del Uruguay. A blend of silk and merino, each bundle has five mini skeins totaling 490 yards of light fingering weight yarn. Although the 3 Color Cashmere Cowl pattern is actually written for, ummm, three colors, we veered outside the lines and knit ours with five (the Beatrix colorway)...same goes for the Soul Warmer; the pattern is written for six colors, we knit ours using only five (the Clarissa colorway)! Change it up! Live a little! The Fino Mini Bundles have more than enough yardage for you to play around with placement of color and we've got seven different bundle options in-stock and ready for you to get your hands on!

Brooklyn Tweed Trunk Show

Yay! Another Brooklyn Tweed Trunk Show!

Don't forget: we've got a fantastic Brooklyn Tweed trunk show on display now - It's a gorgeous mix of scarves and sweaters by Jared Flood, all using BT's signature Shelter or Loft (we've got the entire BT spectrum of both in stock). We're particularly taken with these four sweaters (clockwise from upper left): Agnes, Breton, Hawser and Corvid. As usual with Flood's designs, the beauty is in the details -- we've got this batch until the 20th... don't miss it!

Middle Tennessee Fiber Festival

Save the Date: Middle TN Fiber Fest

The Middle Tennessee Fiber Festival is right around the corner! Located in Dickson, TN, at the Dickson County Fairgrounds on May 25th and 26th, it'll be open that Friday from 12-6 and Saturday from 9-5. We love the local flavor of this festival, now in its eleventh year (and the chicken salad in the concession stand has always been terrific). We'll be there in the Yarn Bus, along with loads of other vendors! Shop around! Take a class! See you there!?

Fixing Mistakes

Fixing Mistakes!

Let's face it: we ALL make mistakes when we knit. We drop a stitch or forget a yarnover and don't see it until the next row...and sometimes we're not quiiiite sure how to fix it! If this sounds a little too familiar to you, you need to take Sue's class! If you take just ONE class this year...we think this one is THE ONE! It's a super-empowering feeling when you make a mistake but you know you can, in fact, fix it!

Saturday, June 2nd from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, $35. Call the shop to register! 615-354-1007

*There's homework required for this one, you'll find the details here.

Leah's Sock Class

Can't make it in person!? Leah has (finally!) uploaded her Boot Camp Sock tutorial pattern to Ravelry! This pattern will take you step-by-step through the process of working socks on two circs. It's written for worsted weight yarn, which lessens the intimidation factor - and you'll make visible progress quite quickly! We used two skeins of West Yorkshire Spinners Aire Valley Aran (in Natural and Rum Paradise) for our sample.
