Back in Stock - The Simply Knitted Baby Sweater
We featured this project last week and it sold out in - literally - an hour and a half. Thank you so much for the amazing response! We called our friend Cindy at Pacolet Valley Fiber Company and she got on the stick and shipped us a whole new mess o' yarn, so we're ready once again for the baby sweater onslaught! Call or come by and get 'em while you can!
The Simply Knitted Baby Sweater from Cindy Walker really is simple. Really. It's knit in one piece -- starting from the lower back to the front -- and then seamed down the arms and sides. We added a few fun stripes, in varying heights, to the right front just for fun. We used one skein of incredibly soft Southern Bales Organic Cotton, grown in west Texas, combed and spun in North Carolina and plied in Georgia. We have four color combinations available: green with natural, pale blue with natural, grey with natural and pale pink with natural. Each kit contains enough yarn for a newborn size, two buttons and the pattern! It's a fast knit, and at just $27, we don't anticipate these being around for long!
Fresh From Our Hook!
Did you know that Julie -- better known as CrochetWorks over on Ravelry -- has designed and named a piece after every single person who works at Haus of Yarn!? We are incredibly lucky to have such a talented designer around us on a weekly basis and even more honored that she has chosen to design a piece and name it after each of us!
Fresh from her design notebook and hook is Vicki's Scarf (above); it's scalene in shape and begins with a tiny number of stitches at one side and gradually increases in length and width. It's finished with a picot edging along two sides. We used just one skein of Southern Bales Fingering weight cotton from Pacolet Valley Fiber Company. This is the same yarn we used in the Simply Knitted Baby Sweater, but in a fingering weight. Grown in Texas, combed and spun in North Carolina and plied in Georgia -- we love it like we love our potato salad...Southern-style!

We'll be here until 8:08 tonight, so please stop by -- we are sooooo cloooose to meeting our fundraising goal and would love for you to donate if you feel like doing so.
Please go here and pledge! The shop will be open from 5:30 am to 8:08 pm today -- we'll be sittin' and stitchin' to honor everyone facing this disease. Join us! We'll have coffee and donuts for the early birds...PJs are welcome!
