Cindy Walker Baby Sweater

Fresh Off Our Needles!

The Simply Knitted Baby Sweater from Cindy Walker really is simple. Really. It's knit in one piece -- starting from the lower back to the front -- and then seamed down the arms and sides. We added a few fun stripes, in varying heights, to the right front just for fun. We used one skein of incredibly soft Southern Bales Organic Cotton, grown in west Texas, combed and spun in North Carolina and plied in Georgia. We have four color combinations available: green with natural, pale blue with natural, grey with natural and pale pink with natural. Each kit contains enough yarn for a newborn size, two buttons and the pattern! It's a fast knit, and at just $27, we don't anticipate these being around for long!

Knitalong Reminder

June's Yearlong Knitalong Reminder

Join us in the store TODAY, Monday, June 13th at 11:00 am, as we meet for the second half of the current Yearlong Knitalong installment: Meet Me at the Ryman. This time around, we'll be demonstrating blocking! Blocking your knits is an important step that's often missed because knitters aren't exactly sure what it is, what the value is and -- most important of all -- how to do it. Blocking will ensure your hand knits look their best and aid in keeping your fibers fresh.

We'll have on hand plenty of bottles of Soak (in varying scents), blocking mat sets and the ever-essential, life-changing Knit Blockers from Knitter's Pride...all available for purchase and all designed to aid you with assembling the very best blocking kit for successful at-home blocking adventures!

In-store Events

This Week's In-Store Events

Join us this Wednesday, June 15th, 10-2 for the Maria Elena Bliss Trunk Show! Maria makes the most incredible projects bags we've seen. Each bag is sewn not once, not twice, but three, sometimes four times to ensure a product that will stand the test of time. She'll be bringing different sizes and colors in a beyond beautiful sheep-motif canvas fabric from Kokka. Maria will be at the shop during the duration of the show, so stop by and meet the maker behind these gorgeous bags. And if that isn't enough, we'll have mimosas and yummy baked goodies!

World Wide Knit in Public Day is this Saturday, June 18th, and we'd love for you to join us on the porch for this annual event! People across the globe will be gathering in different spots for no other reason than to, well, knit in public (thus raising knitting awareness!) and to enjoy each other's company. If the weather proves to be anything like last year, it'll be hot! We'll have plenty of water, tea and baked goods on hand, so we promise: no fainting!

The Longest Day Fundraiser, Monday, June 20th, sunrise to sunset is a team event that raises funds and awareness for the Alzheimer's Association. Held annually on the summer solstice, the duration of this sunrise-to-sunset event symbolizes the challenging journey of those living with the disease and their caregivers.

We are attempting to raise $1600 for the fundraiser and would love for you to donate if you feel like doing so. Please go here, and pledge! The shop will be open from 5:30 am to 8:08 pm, where we will be sittin' and stitchin' to honor someone facing this disease. Join us! We'll have coffee and donuts for the early birds...PJs are welcome!
