Soul Warmer and Rosy Green

Fresh Off Our Needles: Soul Warmer!

Soul Warmer from designer Justyna Lorkowska has been in our knitting dream queue for a while now. It's a simple cowl worked in the round with no complex stitches - just a few stripe sequences, texture sections and simple lace portions. It's the perfect project that'll never bore you! This is one of those projects that'll keep you up past your bedtime; it really is that fun!

We sampled ours using just three skeins from Rosy Green Heb Merino (201 Natural, 202 Cornwall Sky and 225 Thunderstorm). Heb Merino is a sumptuous blend of wools: 80% organic Merino and 20% organic Hebridean. Available in seven colors (which makes choosing a combination simple), this yarn is perfect for any item worn close to sensitive skin.

Pressed Rib Cap and Scarf

Haus of Yarn Yearlong Knitalong: December Edition!!

Join us in the store today - Monday, December 4 - at 11:00 am as we continue the 2017/2018 Yearlong Knitalong! ! This time around, we'll be working on the Pressed Rib Cap & Muffler, just in time for Holiday gifting! We'll be demonstrating the magic loop method of knitting small circumferences in the round. Traditionally, you'd need to transfer live stitches from a 16" circular needle to double pointed needles when shaping the crown of the hat...but that's not required if you know how to magic loop! It's like, well, magic. Come and be AMAZED!

Our sample is photographed in Ultra Alpaca from Berroco in Charcoal and Pitch Black. Ultra Alpaca is the ideal balance of luxurious super fine alpaca and Peruvian Highland wool blended together and spun up perfectly round and light. Pick two colors, one skein for the contrasting color, two skeins for your main color and you'll actually have enough yarn for THREE items, one scarf and two hats! With our leftover yarn, we knit yet another hat with a reversed color scheme. Not interested in making the hat or scarf? You can still join the Yearlong Knitalong with an afghan block pattern from the Haus of Yarn Block-a-Month Afghan book. The Block-a-Month Knitalong meets at 1:00 pm on Monday, November 6.

Remember: attendance for Knitalong Mondays is always free! As a genuine 'thank you!' for your participation, all materials purchased at Haus of Yarn that relate directly to each month's knitalong will qualify for double stamps on our Haus of Yarn Reward Card. DOUBLE STAMPS! We really do appreciate your participation and want to encourage as many of you to make as many of the monthly projects as possible. Earning double stamps will make it that much easier!
