Woolen Boon MCN

One of Our Favorites: Woolen Boon!

Boon MCN has arrived...finally! We waited a looong time for this restock and we're tickled pink to be able to share it with you at last! Hand-dyed in New Hampshire by Sonya, Boon MCN is an incredible blend of merino and cashmere...with just a smidge of nylon added for strength.

There are a lot of speckled yarns out there to choose from, and as much as we'd love to have them all, we're a little selective about what we buy and why. We love Sonya's dyeing process; the way she layers color is subtle but complex. But it's her use of "white space" that made us fall ever so deeply in love. Not every inch of the yarn is covered in color - there's room for the eye to rest! There are loads of colorways to choose from, but we thought we'd highlight some of the ones that make our hearts go pitter-pat. Pick just one skein, grab a copy of Woolenberry's Antarktis pattern, and see if you don't catch the Woolen Boon bug too!

Knitalong

The ALL-NEW Haus of Yarn Yearlong Knitalong: November Edition!!

It's here! It's here! For the past year, the entire Haus of Yarn team has been secretly knitting away, testing selections for the 2017/2018 Yearlong Knitalong and now we can finally start talking about them! An entire year's worth of knitalong projects have been chosen...each one different and each specifically chosen to enhance and build on the skill set you already have. Beginning knitters and advanced experts alike will find something new and exciting to tackle as each month rolls around -- and at the end of the year, you'll have a big ol' stack of hand-knit heirlooms ready to gift...or keep for yourself! You can view the complete listing of selected projects here!

Join us in the store today - Monday, November 6 - at 11:00 am as we kick off the 2017/2018 Yearlong Knitalong! This time around, we'll be working on the Arika Cowl. Jane Richmond's Arika Cowl utilizes clever construction to transform a short scarf into a dynamic cowl. The cowl is fast and fun to knit and absolutely effortless to wear; it's an ideal "gift knit"... or instant gratification for yourself!

Not interested in making the scarf? You can still join the Yearlong Knitalong with an afghan block pattern from the Haus of Yarn Block-a-Month Afghan book. The Block-a-Month Knitalong meets today at 1:00 pm.

Remember: attendance for Knitalong Mondays is always free! As a genuine 'thank you!' for your participation, all materials purchased at Haus of Yarn that relate directly to each month's knitalong will qualify for double stamps on our Haus of Yarn Reward Card. DOUBLE STAMPS! We really do appreciate your participation and want to encourage as many of you to make as many of the monthly projects as possible. Earning double stamps will make it that much easier!

Not local? No worries! Join the Yearlong Knitalong virtually. Click here to join our group and come knit along with us!

We'd love to see your projects! In process or completed...if you're on Instagram, join in anytime with #yearlongknitalong and #hausofyarntn.
