3 Weeks

Ushya

One Yarn -- Three Ideas

Hannukkah and Christmas are just weeks away, so if you find yourself short on time - and a little behind on a handmade holiday - we think these three projects are for you! All three are worked with Ushya, a bulky merino wool, and will fly off your needles. Ushya is unbelievably lightweight, soft and warm! Since the yarn is chain-plied, it's perfect for on-trend bulky accessories without weighing the wearer down. We love the maker of this yarn; Mirasol Yarn is made in Peru to benefit the Mirasol Project, a group that strives to better the lives of Peruvian shepherds through building and supporting schools.

Outlander Cowl - An easy, fun knit that uses two skeins of Ushya, held double on size 50 needles!

Ushya Hat - A cozy hat that's an ultra-quick project and a perfect gift knit, it uses just one skein of Ushya.

Fur Wool Cowl - We designed this one and we added a bit of texture by working one half of the cowl with one skein of Fur Wool from Erika Knight, and the other half with one skein of Ushya. We'll give you a pattern copy at checkout!

December Knitalong

The Haus of Yarn Yearlong Knitalong: December Edition!

Join us in the store today - Monday, December 5th - at 11:00 am as we kick off our next installment of the Yearlong Knitalong! This time around, we'll be working on the Leafy Bandana Cowl. This small knitted cowl uses approximately 100 yards of a heavy worsted weight yarn and utilizes short-rows for shaping. We got so excited about this Yearlong Knitalong project, we made three different samples in three different yarns! Shown in the photo is Huasco Chunky, 100% fine merino with loads of color options to select from. Also on display in-store is a sample worked in Lujoso, an alpaca/wool/silk blend that is unbelievably soft and drapey. We also worked it up in Dream in Colors Canyon, a velvety soft 100% wool grown, spun and hand-dyed in the USA. If you haven't already stopped in to see them, what are you waiting for!? Not interested in making a cowl? You can still join the Yearlong Knitalong with an afghan block pattern from the Haus of Yarn Block-a-Month Afghan book. The Block-a-month Knitalong meets at 1:00 pm on Monday, December 5th.

Remember: attendance for Knitalong Mondays is always free! As a genuine 'thank you!' for your participation, all materials purchased at Haus of Yarn that relate directly to each month's knitalong will qualify for double stamps on our Haus of Yarn Reward Card. DOUBLE STAMPS! We really do appreciate your participation and want to encourage as many of you to make as many of the monthly projects as possible. Earning double stamps will make it that much easier!

Not local? No worries! Join the Yearlong Knitalong virtually. Click here to join our group and come knit along with us!
